Privacy Policy

Guardian Connected is built on a foundation of consent. We only collect data that the device user has explicitly agreed to share, and only for the purposes described in this policy.

1. Who We Are

Guardian Connected ("we," "us," or "our") is a consent-based device monitoring platform. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected when you use our platform, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Location Data

With the device user's explicit consent, we collect:

  • Real-time GPS coordinates (latitude, longitude, accuracy)
  • Location history and route data
  • Geofence entry and exit events
  • Network type at the time of each location update

Location data is only collected after the device user accepts the consent agreement when logging into their device dashboard. GPS access can be revoked by the user at any time through their browser settings.

2.2 Device Status Data

We collect the following device telemetry automatically once consent is granted:

  • Battery level and charging status
  • Online/offline status
  • Last-seen timestamp

2.3 Camera and Microphone Permission Status

Camera and microphone access are requested by administrators on a per-session basis. We collect:

  • Whether camera/microphone permission was granted or denied
  • Session start and end timestamps
  • Live audio/video streams during active sessions (not persistently stored)

Device users are notified with an on-screen banner before any camera or microphone session begins. Users may deny any session request at any time.

2.4 Account and Profile Data

For administrator accounts, we collect:

  • Email address and display name (provided during registration)
  • Role assignment (master admin or secondary admin)
  • Subscription plan and billing information

2.5 Payment Information

Payments are processed by Mercado Pago. Guardian Connected does not store raw payment card details. We store:

  • Mercado Pago transaction IDs
  • Payment status (pending, approved, rejected, cancelled)
  • Payment amount, date, and plan associated
  • Payer name and email (as provided at payment time)

3. Consent Requirement

Guardian Connected is built exclusively for consent-based monitoring. Before any device monitoring data is collected, the device user must:

  • Log in with their assigned credentials
  • Read and accept the consent agreement presented on first login
  • Individually approve camera and microphone access requests for each session

Unauthorized or hidden monitoring is strictly prohibited. Administrators who use Guardian Connected to monitor devices without the knowledge and consent of the device user may have their account suspended and may be subject to applicable law.

4. How We Use Your Data

Data collected through Guardian Connected is used solely to:

  • Display device status and location to authorized administrators
  • Generate alerts and notifications based on configured conditions
  • Maintain audit logs for transparency and accountability
  • Process subscription payments and manage billing
  • Provide platform support and respond to contact form inquiries

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. Data Storage

All data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Firebase Authentication), hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure with industry-standard security. Data is retained for as long as the account is active. Upon account deletion, data is removed within 30 days.

6. User Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Withdraw consent for data collection at any time
  • Request a portable copy of your data

7. Cookies and Tracking

Guardian Connected uses Firebase Authentication session tokens stored in browser local storage to maintain your login session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or cross-site tracking technologies.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
